Austin Quick Trip

The first picture is taken from the car with my phone, I tried to capture the blue bonnets that are in full bloom, but I failed. They are so pretty!

Here is what they look like:

Joey and I drifted off to Austin to bum around, nothing too exciting. I took Joey back to where Leah and I went a few weeks prior to Mt. Bonnell. You climb 99 stairs to this lookout, then you have spectacular views of Lake Austin and its surroundings, the only annoying thing is the million dollar homes with lake property and boat docks. We were so jealous! :-)

Joe don't fall!! We found a little spot where we could enjoy the view in private without others around, the only negative was how steep it was!

So we lasted about 20 minutes, then we took off...
Joey walking down the 99 stairs to the car, then we headed off to dinner at Stubb's BBQ in downtown Austin. We just had to eat there since we have eaten Stubb's BBQ sauce for years at home, so we assumed that their food would be great and IT WAS! Here is a picture of the BBQ sauce, you may have seen it in the store:
The food and dinner place was amazing. It was in a old Mormon settlement from the 1800s I believe. I had their brisket, one of my fav's and Joey had a pork tenderloin. Yummy. :-) We are excited at the thought of people maybe visiting us just because there is a LOT of great food places we could go! haha

So after Stubb's BBQ , Joey and I headed North on the I-35 home but made a quick stop at a miniature golf place along the way:

As always Joey BEAT me!!!! :-) hehe

  1. Sounds like you had a wonderful Texas day. Love that Mt. Bonnel.

Thanks for being long-time fans of our sauces, and for taking the time to visit our colleagues over at the restaurant.
